Most Common Kodak Printer and Kodak Ink Cartridge Problems and Troubleshooting

Kodak printers are a good option if you are going to buy a printer. It could be one of the options you should definitely consider. However, like all other printer models even Kodak printers are prone to some common printer, as well as, cartridge problems. Troubleshooting these problems is fairly easy.

Here is a list of problems that you might face and we have also offered their solutions.

The Power LED shows no Illumination; the Printer does not power On

This is a common enough problem. The possible cause of this occurrence could be that the cables and cords are not connected as securely as they must be. You must make sure that the cords are connected in accordance with the instructions. Another reason for this could be the fact that the printer power is not 'on'. You might just have turned the switch in the 'I' position.

The Printing Process is Slow

Another common problem and the culprit in this case might be the size of the image file. This could take up a lot of time for the printer to process the PostScript file. Thus, the only solution in this case is to show some patience. At times, the slow printing process is a result of the printer getting warm. The best thing to do in such a case would be to turn off the printer and allow it to cool down. Also, you could think about changing the printer location and shifting it to a cooler location.

No Action Taken When Job is Sent

The possible solution to this problem could be to check and recheck whether the job is actually being processed or not. Moreover, you must check whether you have set the printer in the correct mode for printing. You must use the Raster Mode while using the export module and all other types of printing can be done by choosing the PostScript mode.

The Processing is Complete, No Print

This is another common problem that affects the Kodak Printer. This is an ink cartridge related problem and not a general printer problem. All you need to do is clean the head of the ink cartridges. Accumulated dust or dried color might prevent the printing process from taking place; hence you must clean the head of the cartridges. All Kodak printers come with a set of tools that not only clean the cartridge heads but align them as well.

Printer's Not Working after Cartridge Change

Once the ink in the cartridge is finished, you either need to change the cartridges or get them refilled with ink. Whatever, the case maybe, you will have to take the cartridges out of the printer and put them back in place. Some times, you will find that the printer does not print, even though the cartridge ink is full. The problem could be sorted out by checking if the cartridges are securely in place. Secure it, and the printer is sure to start working.

Why is a Custom USB Flash Drive Infinitely Cooler?

An USB flash drive may be a common every day item you see every day. You might have stopped noticing them right around when the 1GB models became mainstream and everyone got one. Now they're just another thing you have to have on your key chain without any of that added wow! This is because these flash drives are cheap and easy.

You can have a flash drive in two days from any webshop, but have you thought about making them exciting again? There are a few good reasons to do so and becoming infinitely cool at the LAN you go to every other month.

A custom USB flash drive is not gradually more expensive than a normal one. Why would anyone buy a normal 2gb flash drive for $8 when they can have a custom printed one for $11? It's just 3 dollars more, but the end result is so much more cool.

If you happen to go out with a geek and they already have all the geeky stuff geeks usually have, you're out of luck. Unless you make a super cool flash drive and give that as a gift. Not everybody runs around with a printed horde symbol. Just make sure you understand what alliance and horde is and find out your boyfriend or girlfriend plays the faction you're about to get printed.

How cool is that to get one with your favorite stuff on it? A custom USB drive is easy to get. Just by looking around online you'll uncover twenty different companies that want your three dollars per pen drive. You don't have to choose right away but it makes sense to check out a few before you do.

Look around, see if any of them has something extra, like fast turnaround times or they provide the device themselves.

Custom USB drives are usually made from lower capacity models. 64 megabyte pen drives are cheap as chips but they're not much good these days, maybe a settings file and an mp3 fits on them, I suggest looking for something bigger.

An 1GB flash drive for example is perfectly fine for storing a CD worth of data and these days that is the minimum a storage media has to give in order to be useful.

If you don't know where to go and how to ensure that your order goes through as you've imagined, consult with forums, articles and reviews. A few minutes spent with research will cut most of the stupid mistakes one can make.

The Best Digital Camera Binoculars For 2009

There's nothing that sounds cooler to a gadget geek, then digital camera binoculars. They have that ultra slick James Bond type feel going for them. Or like something Batman would have in his utility belt. While that all may sound pretty cool, this type of binoculars really do have a very practical utilitarian side to them. Imagine how much easier it is for bird watchers, to get a rare glimpse of that red breasted whatever bird through their binoculars, and then click a button and have it captured. Without ever having to reach for their digital camera, and risk their target flying away. Sports fans are another obvious group that would enjoy a gift like this. Especially those watching from the cheap sets at their favorite sporting event.

Here's a few quick reviews of the more popular binoculars with a digital camera built in.

Bushnell Image View 8x21 Binocular w/VGA camera

These Busnell binoculars sport a pretty decent image clarity, for the price. If you happen to be an Apple Mac user, you'll want to steer clear of these, as they're not totally compatible. They go for around $50 or a little more on many of the online shopping sites. They provide the flexibility of taking both still photographs, or video. This is a great binocular camera for the casual user, but the more serious bird watching type, may want to spend a little more money. Specifically, take a look at the last digcam binoculars (From Barska) in this review. It uses a standard USB connector to upload pictures and videos taken to your computer.

BinoCatch 4x28 Digital Binoculars w/Built-In Digital Camera/Camcorder

These usually go for about $50, but I've seen them in the $20 price range as well. A bit of a toy set, but something that may be fun for the kids, or maybe a one time usage. You get a pretty good software bundle with it for the price. ArcSoft Photoimpression, My DSC, and PCCam are all included that alone makes it worth a few bucks. The formfactor construction is a little on the light side. The plasctic used could have been better, and you'll have to treat this one with a little care because of it. You do, however get 4x28 magnification, video capture, and a few extras. It's kind of 50% camera, and 50% binoculars.

Barska Point 'N View 4.0MP 8x32mm Binocular

This 4MP version is a big improvement over prior versions that were 2MP.  The flip up LCD screen is a nice feature as well.  It hides away when your just using the binoculars, but is readily available, when you need to take some quick pictures or videos.  It's often difficult to find a good digital camera, and good binoculars in one package, but Barska seems to have found the right blend.  It's far nicer than the Vivitar digital camera binoculars I was looking at previously.  An optional SD card can be used with these binoculars.
